The story goes that the château was built for Louis XIV’s Superintendant of Finances, Nicolas Fouquet. Files with jealousy upon seeing that Fouquet’s castle was even more beautiful than his, Louis XIV had Fouquet condemned for crimes against the State and imprisoned for life. The Sun King then had Versailles built using Fouquet’s castle as a model, and with the same construction team.

The halls, gardens and terrace of the castle can be privatized for your special event or party. EURYDICE is the ideal backdrop for a private dinner with the grounds illuminated by lantern, or a fairytale wedding.
