CELEBRATE CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH POP MY WORLD !

The 2017 Chinese New Year is celebrated tonight: make room for the cock, sign of this new year !

From January, 28th to February, 17th 2017, a lot of events will take place in Paris and the Île-de-France area.

Here is the schedule of the not-to-be-missed events:

• January, 28th, at 2 p.m: a wide parade in costume in le Marais
• January, 28th: Chinese Day, Courbevoie
• January, 29th, from 10 a.m onwards: Great Festivities Day, Noisy-Le-Grand
• February, 4th and 5th, from 11 a.m to 19p.m: Arts and Culture Festival at Carreau du Temple
• February, 5th, at 13 p.m: Parade of Ivry
• February, 10th, 19 p.m: Cantonese Opera « Légendes de l’époque des glorieuses dynasties », at the community center of the Mairie d’Ivry
• February, 11th: Discovery Day of Streetlight Feast, at the community center of the Mairie d’Ivry

We have kept the best till last. The Château de Fontainebleau, alias Marguerite, contains a small Chinese art room inside its walls. In 1863, Empress Eugénie, wife to Napoléon III, rearranged the castle as her own Chinese museum. As such, she has meticulously gathered, in the three wealthy decorated lounges, some precious work of art from Extreme Orient. More than 300 of them come from Beijing Summer Palace. A true delight for your eyes!
