STUNNING 18TH-CENTURY PORTUGUESE PALACE – LISBON – ROSA

This stunning 18th-century Portuguese palace is the largest and most impressive building to border Lisbon’s central area.

The building, which was initially designed in a baroque style, today exhibits Italian influences following renovations made towards the end of the 18th Century.

This palace previously welcomed a number of earls and monarchs, before being transformed into a theatre, a cinema, and finally a restaurant. The palace’s interiors boast a luxurious gold decor, marble columns, cast iron balconies, balustrades, painted ceilings and walls adorned with azulejos. The most impressive space is no doubt the hall of mirrors, which features elaborate Louis XIV-style embellishments.

The space comprises of:

  • A beautiful garden
  • A 130m² balcony joining on to the dining room
  • A 160m² hall of mirrors
  • A 70m² Louis XIV-style living room
  • Two other living areas of more than 120m²
