WORLD CHAMPIONS – TEAM MANAGEMENT BASICS
As the French football team won the World Cup, let’s talk about a new trend : how team work and team management became a really important thing.
According to Thomas Baligand, a consultant in Human Resources : “A single person can put at risk the overall balance of a team or on the contrary become an element of stability, a sign of cohesion who reinforces interpersonal relations.”
Just like in our winning football team, it is important to have a good complicity with your colleagues as well as a good cohesion at work. One imbalance and the winning formula doesn’t work anymore. Nowadays, team work has become an essential part of a successfull company, as well as a major question for any manager dedicated to their job. This harmony between employees is organized and built by the managers through different kind of activities : team building, brainstorming, seminars… Everything is good to teach the employees how to get along well, share ideas and opinions, listen to each other, work together and even live together.
It is a little bit like playing a football match : here, victory is the company’s success. If each player is at the right place, and the combination of all these players is strategic and adequate, if people feel like they belong together, that they belong to the same team… everything is possible. Victory is possible. A united team will always be more efficient than an isolated person. As the African proverb says : “Alone we go quicker, together we go farer.” The French team proved us that this proverb is right last Sunday at the World Cup.
In these times of individualism, more and more companies, start-ups first, get to favour team work, in order to boost their performance.
